(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 6 - Italians in the first six months of 2024 requested personal loans for 250 million euros to cover vacation costs, up 12% on an annual basis, according to an analysis published Tuesday by online lending platforms Facile.it and Prestiti.it based on a sample of over 150,000 applications.
According to the survey, applicants requested an average of 5,425 euros to be paid back in around 50 installments, or just over four years.
Most of the applicants were young - aged on average 38 - with one in three under the age of 30.
Nevertheless, an estimated 6.5 million Italians this year will not go on holiday, including 3.7 million who said they couldn't afford a vacation, according to the survey commissioned by Facile.it to market research institutes mUp Research and Bilendi. (ANSA).
