(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 9 - President Sergio Mattarella on Friday
promulgated a justice reform bill framed by Justice Minister
Carlo Nordio which scraps abuse of office as a crime and curbs
prosecutors' powers to appeal first-instance acquittals.
There are eight articles in the bill, which proposes a
significant reform of the Criminal Code, the Code of Criminal
Procedure and the judicial system.
They also include changes to influence peddling legislation ,
changes to probe notification, and curbs on wiretapping to
preserve the privacy of persons not accused of crimes. (ANSA).
