Government party files bill to add scooter to national heritage

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 10 - The rightwing government League party has filed a bill to make the iconic Vespa scooter a part of Italy's official cultural heritage.
    The scooter, patented by Piaggio in 1946, is already on show in many museums around the world ranging from Milan's Triennale Design Museum to New York's MoMa.
    The scooter famously ridden by Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday is still going strong and the Italian company has sold over 1.6 million units in the last 10 years including new electric versions. (ANSA).
