(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 10 - An Italian man has marked his 90th
birthday by cycling 50 kilometres to Europe's highest shrine in
northern Italy.
Former shop assistant Beppe Costamagna has been doing the climb
from Cuneo up to the 2,035 metre Santuario di Sant'Anna di
Vinadio on his last 10 birthdays.
He broke his femur a few months before last year's effort but
still recovered in time to accomplish the feat.
Like every year, Costamagna was accompanied by his son Silvio
and friends ready to applaud his exploit. (ANSA).
