(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 11 - A 48-year-old Italian woman left her
five-year-old daughter strapped into her car seat in almost 40
degree heat to go shopping at Foligno near Perugia in Umbria on
Saturday, police said Sunday.
The girl, who managed to open the door when police woke her up
after she had been sweltering inside for several minutes, is in
good health but her mother has been cited for abandoning a minor
and may face charges. (ANSA).
