(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 12 - The number of Italian cities on red
heat alert, when even the young and healthy are advised to stay
out of the sun, is set to rise from 14 Sunday to 17 Monday, 19
Tuesday and 22 on Wednesday, the health ministry said Monday.
The long heatwave Italy is enduring is set to intensify, it
said.
When an area is on red alert, it means the heat is so intense it
is a threat to active healthy people and not just vulnerable
groups such as the sick, the elderly and young children. (ANSA).
