(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 13 - Foreign tourists in Italy spent a
record 5.2 billion euros in May, up 17% on the previous year,
the Bank of Italy said Tuesday in its periodical survey of
international tourism.
Meanwhile Italian travellers abroad spent 2.4 billion euros in
the same period, up 9%, it added.
The budget surplus of tourist payments in May totalled 2.8
billion euros, up from 2.2 billion recorded in May 2023, the
Bank of Italy said. (ANSA).
