(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 13 - Two men on Tuesday tried to meet with Premier Giorgia Meloni at the luxury resort where she is holidaying in Puglia to show her the project of what they described as an innovative military system for national security.
The pair, from the province of Brindisi, rang the doorbell of the deluxe Masseria Beneficio in the countryside of Ceglie Messapica, explaining the purpose of their visit. After being denied entry, Meloni's security detail asked them to leave the premises.
The pair told security their objective was for Meloni to submit their project to Defence Minister Guido Crosetto who "cannot remain in the dark about its content", according to well-informed sources.
Meanwhile, typical products from Puglia were taken to the Masseria especially for the premier who is continuing to follow the government's agenda while relaxing among the olive groves of Puglia.
Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, who is her brother in law and is also holidaying at the resort with wife Arianna Meloni, went on a bike tour across Calle D'Itria on Tuesday morning. (ANSA).
