(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 16 - Alice Toniolli, 19, is out of danger
after a serious accident on Thursday during a cycling race in
Vittorio Veneto near Treviso, hospital sources said Friday.
Francesco Benazzi, the director of Treviso's hospital where the
young athlete is being treated, said she is "still in critical
condition but her life is not in danger".
Benazzi said it will be necessary to wait "at least two or three
days" for Toniolli's condition to improve.
Toniolli fell and violently banged her head on a wall, suffering
traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures to her ribs and
leg.
The 19-year-old is being treated in the intensive care unit of
the Ca' Foncello Hospital in Treviso. (ANSA).
