(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 20 - Jannik Sinner on Tuesday said he respected world tennis anti-doping authorities after he tested positive for a banned steroid in April but was adjudged innocent due to an 'unconscious intake' and would now put this tough period behind him.
"I will now put this difficult and deeply unfortunate period behind me", said the 23-year-old South Tyrolean world number one and reigning Australian Open champ, who is now eyeing the US Open.
"I will continue to do everything I can to make sure I continue to comply with ITIAs anti-doping programme," he added, stressing that he has "a team around me that is meticulous about compliance" with the rules (ANSA).
