Rostrum used in Battle of Aegates recovered off Sicily

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 23 - A rostrum, or ancient Roman ramming beak, has been found off the Aegadian Islands in Sicily, site of the 241BC Battle of the Aegates, a crushing sea victory over the Carthaginians that marked the end of the First Punic War.
    The bronze artefact was found on the seabed at a depth of around 80 metres.
    It is just the latest in a trove of finds from the epic battle.
