(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 26 - Italian Judo legend Ezio Gamba, who
won a gold medal at the Moscow Olympics in 1980, has stepped
down as technical coordinator of the Russian national teams - a
role for which he had a contract until 2028 - and will run for
president of the Italian Federation Fijlkam, ANSA learned on
Monday.
During his long experience in Moscow, Gamba also coached Russian
President Vladimir Putin who in 2016 granted him Russian
citizenship over his achievements in sport.
