(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 30 - The populist right-wing and secessionist Northern League founder Umberto Umberto Bossi "is doing very well", sources close to the politician said on Friday, denying reports he had died.
Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini, leader of the League party, spoke with him on the phone after taking a break from a summit with the other government coalition leaders on Friday morning, Premier Giorgia Meloni and Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, League sources said.
"We joked on the latest journalistic rubbish and I told him I will visit him soon to brief him" on the regional autonomy law, a cornerstone of the League's program and on "all the other results we are obtaining as government", said Salvini (ANSA).
