(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 1 - Giacomo Perini's bronze medal in the PR1 men's single sculls at the Paralympic Games in Paris has been suspended.
The Italian had arrived third but the jury decided to disqualify him after the race.
The Italian delegation is now verifying the motivation to eventually appeal the decision.
The bronze has now gone to Australia's Erik Horrie.
The 28-year-old had conquered an historic bronze medal for Italy at the Paralympics after leading most of the competition, only giving in at the end with Britain's Bejamin Pritchard winning gold and Ukraine's Roman Polianskyi silver. (ANSA).
