(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 3 - Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
like syphilis and clamidia are up in Italy, the Italian
Federation of Scientific Sexology (FISS) said Tuesday ahead of
the World Day of Sexual Wellbeing on Wednesday September 4.
In 2022, it said, 1,396 cases of clamidia were logged for every
100,000 inhabitants, up from 1,198 in 2018.
As for syphilis, there were 2,540 cases per 100,000 inhabitants
in 2022, almost double the 1,526 per 100,00 of 2018.
"It is ever more necessary to put sex education onto school
curricula" said the FISS. (ANSA).
