(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 8 - A 29-year-old man was shot dead in a
mafia-style hit in a barber's shop in Naples' Scampia district
late on Saturday, sources said on Sunday.
The victim, named as Camillo Esposito, had a criminal record for
robbery and illegal possession of arms.
The sources said a man with his face covered entered the shop
and fired about a dozen shots into the victim before getting
away in a car driven by an accomplice.
The owner of the shop and several other people were inside at
the time of the hit.
Scampia has long been a stronghold of the local Camorra mafia
but it has been fighting to throw off the shackles of the Mob in
recent years. (ANSA).
