(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 10 - Italy are top of Nations League Group
A2 with six points from two games after beating Israel 2-1 in
Budapest on Monday following Friday's impressive 3-1 comeback
win over France in Paris.
Goals in each half by Davide Frattesi and Moise Kean earned the
Azzurri victory, with Mohamed Abu Fani pulling one back for
Israel in the closing stages.
Italy coach Luciano Spalletti expressed satisfaction after his
side showed they have the potential to bounce back from their
poor showing at Euro 2024.
"We were splendid," Spalletti said.
"There were so many dangers that we had talked about, and we saw
them tonight.
"The fact that we were organised and waited for the right moment
was vital.
"This wasn't just a mature team, but a very mature one.
"The players played as they do at club level and some can find
each other (on the field) with their eyes closed.
"We did better in the second half, passing and moving the ball
around well.
"We've produced two fantastic performances, and I've received
the responses that I wanted.
"Now, we need to carry on down this path."
France and Belgium are second in the group with three points,
while Israel are bottom with none. (ANSA).
