Woman stabbed to death by adult son in Sicily

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 10 - A 43-year-old man has been arrested after turning himself in and confessing to stabbing to death his 64-year-old mother in their home in the Sicilian town of Gela late on Monday, sources said on Tuesday.
    The unemployed man has a criminal record for drugs offences and was being followed by the authorities for his addictions.
    He also has mental-health problems, the sources said.
    Italy has been hit by an alarming spate of femicides. (ANSA).
