(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 14 - Some 431,000 young people in Italy
between the ages of 18 and 24 dropped out of school of
university in 2023, the Cgia di Mestre (Venice) Studies Office
said Saturday on Eurostat and Istat data.
At the most, they obtained an eighth grade school leaving
certificate, but subsequently did not even complete a vocational
training course and are not attending any school or training
course, said the research centre.
The region most in difficulty on the issue is Sardinia, which in
2023 recorded a school dropout rate of 17.3%.
It is followed by Sicily with 17.1 per cent, then, surprisingly,
by the Province of Bolzano with 16.2 per cent. (ANSA).
