(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 16 - Bank of Italy Governor Fabio Panetta
said Monday that the governments of the world's largest
economies "should pave the way" for an orderly transition to
renewable sources of energy.
Addressing a G7- International Energy Agency (IEA) conference
that the central bank is hosting in Rome, Panetta said
governments should "promote low-emission investments" and
"reduce administrative and regulatory burdens" on them.
He also said it was necessary to "avoid stop-and-go policies
that create uncertainties and hold back crucial private
investment". (ANSA).
