Tourist struck in head by falling statue dies in Naples

30-year-old had been in hospital since accident on Sunday

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 17 - A 30-year-old tourist from Padua has died as a consequence of traumatic brain injuries caused by a statue that fell from a balcony in downtown Naples, medical sources said on Tuesday.
    The woman was being treated at the Ospedale del Mare in the port city.
    The tourist was walking in one of the most famous areas of Naples - the Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Districts) - before heading to the airport to take her flight back home on Sunday when she was hit by the statue.
    Police are investigating the incident. (ANSA).
