(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 19 - Philosophy's creative director Lorenzo Serafini celebrated the concept of movement through soft and ethereal materials such as silks, lace and chiffon to "help women find a peaceful mental state" in his spring-summer 2025 collection presented Thursday in Milan.
On the catwalk, Serafini showcased the most lightweight silks that "balloon like a parachute" to "celebrate femininity" through grace.
Essential lines and a palette dominated by white were an ode to elegant simplicity as a "sense of reaction to external challenges" in troubled times to help wearers experience a "mental state of serenity", Philosophy's director said.
And on Wednesday night Milan Fashion Week paid homage to one of the protagonists of Italian fashion over the past fifty years, Roberto Cavalli, who died on April 12 this year at 83.
In the first fashion show since his death, Fausto Puglisi - today the creative director of the brand founded by the Florentine designer - presented seven iconic vintage dresses that have made the maison's history, worn by celebrated supermodels Mariacarla Boscono, Alek Wek, Karen Elson, Eva Herzigova, Joan Small and Isabeli Fontana.
While paying homage to the Cavalli heritage, Puglisi's runway offering also vied to attract a younger generation.
The collection progressed from cotton and linen dresses fit for beachwear with cutouts and rope details to sexy dresses in sunset and volcano patterns and trademark body-hugging gowns in a bright palette or encrusted with crystals. (ANSA).
