(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 19 - Rome prosecutors have opened a probe after former culture minister Gennaro Sangiuliano filed a complaint against Maria Rosaria Boccia, a businesswoman he resigned over after their affair emerged amid claims, which he denied, that she was granted access to sensitive information and paid with public money ahead of the Group of Seven (G7) Culture Summit at Pompeii this weekend.
The complaint, whose exact content is not yet known, filed against Boccia is being considered by the prosecutors in Rome.
The file was sent in the last few hours to the prosecutors HQ at Piazzale Clodio and the prosecutors will soon begin the investigations, sources said.
In the last few weeks, the lawyer Silverio Sica, the former minister's attorney, had announced the complaint, citing "undue pressure" exerted on his client by the entrepreneur and influencer. (ANSA).
