Machado thanks Italy and Meloni for supporting Venezuelans

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 26 - Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Thursday thanked Italy and Premier Giorgia Meloni for supporting Venezuelans amid a bloody crackdown against protests against the allegedly rigged re-election of President Nicolás Maduro.
    "Thank you to Italy and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for her enormous support for the Venezuelan people. "We are united by deep ties and I know we can count on you to affirm our popular sovereignty and the decision of (the) July 28 (election)", she said on X.
    "The voice of Georgia Meloni at the UN, which today presides over the G7, is the demonstration that the major world powers understand the priority for the democratic world of a rapid and peaceful resolution of the conflict in Venezuela". (ANSA).
