FM urges Italians to leave Lebanon with flights still connecting Beirut to Milan-Rome

'We have tried to protect our military in the best way' says tajani from Berlin

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 28 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Saturday urged Italians to leave Lebanon as soon as possible on flights that are still connecting Beirut to Milan and Rome amid escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah.
    "We urge all Italian citizens to leave Lebanon with commercial flights that continue to be operational from the airport of Beirut to Milan and Rome", Tajani said, speaking from Berlin during a visit with President Sergio Mattarella.
    "We have tried to safeguard in the best way possible our military.
    "We have sought reassurance from the Israeli government which has guaranteed for our 1,200 soldiers who are at the border between Hezbollah and Israel", he added. (ANSA).
