In addition to other potential Jewish targets

Sensibilizzata la sicurezza al ghetto ebraico di Roma

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 29 - Security measures in the Ghetto areas of Rome and Venice, as well as around other sensitive locations connected to local Jewish communities, have been further heightened amid escalating violence in the Middle East, recent anti-Semitic demonstrations and pro-Palestine marches announced ahead of the first anniversary of the October 7 deadly Hamas attack on Israel, security sources said Sunday.
In Rome, security measures in the area of the Ghetto, which were already extremely high, were further "sensitized" in light of the situation in the Middle East, as well as recent protests and planned events ahead of October 7, the sources explained.
Security measures meanwhile were "raised" in Venice's Jewish Ghetto - the oldest in Europe - and in other sensitive locations of the Lagoon City, local central police department sources told ANSA.
They added that the alert level had already been raised due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The security situation is under control and constantly monitored by police forces and the prefect of Venice, the sources explained. (ANSA).
