Palestinians turn to TAR over Oct 5 demo ban

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 30 - A Palestinian Italian group on Monday said they would appeal to the Lazio regional administrative tribunal (TAR) against a Rome police chief's allegedly "arbitrary and political" decision to bar their planned pro-Palestine demonstration in the Italian capital on October 5.
    "We believe that the decision of the Rome Police Headquarters is a political one that has nothing to do with public order and since it was a unilateral and arbitrary decision we decided not to submit to this diktat and maintain the (demonstration) for 5 October, starting the process for an appeal to the TAR", Khaled El Qaisi, representative of the Arab-Palestinian Democratic Union (UDAP), told ANSA.
