(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 2 - The new chief police commissioner of
Rome Roberto Massucci said a ban on pro-Palestinian
demonstrations originally scheduled on Saturday in the Italian
capital "exists and must be respected".
He stressed however that there is "dialogue" with promoters to
"find a different timing and legal framework" for the protest.
A Palestinian Italian group, Arab-Palestinian Democratic Union
(UDAP), on Monday said they would appeal to the Lazio regional
administrative tribunal (TAR) against the allegedly "arbitrary
and political" decision to bar their planned pro-Palestine
demonstration on October 5. (ANSA).
