(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 4 - Art and live performances will be
among the protagonists of the daily calendar of events of the
Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, a global window for the
internationalization and growth of the Italian artistic and
cultural system.
With this objective, AGIS (Italian General Association of
Performing Arts) and the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo
2025 Osaka Mario Vattani signed on Thursday at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation a protocol of
agreement which aims to involve Italian cultural organizations
with a strong strategic interest in the Asia-Pacific area for
the organization of performances, concerts, events, digital
experiences and thematic workshops at the Italy Pavilion, in
line with the themes of Italy's participation in Expo.
"The theme chosen by Italy for Expo 2025 Osaka is 'Art
Regenerates Life', interpreting 'Art' in a wider sense: synonym
of beauty, culture and our inventiveness", highlighted the
General Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Mario
Vattani. "For this, at the Italian Pavilion planned by architect
Mario Cucinella - a modern reinterpretation of the Ideal City of
Renaissance - theatre is placed at the entrance, as a symbolic
location of creativity of our country".
"A space in which we will host on a daily basis live
performances and plays that will enable Japan and all visitors
to get acquainted with our most innovative artistic projects in
which the young will be the protagonists together with the great
Italian Opera, today UNESCO heritage, very much loved by the
Japanese", stressed Vattani.
"The collaboration with AGIS strengthens our objective, which is
to show the world the creative wealth of our country, from the
most traditional to the most experimental forms. Expo Osaka 2025
is a rare occasion to create synergies and incentivize
investments in the world of performing arts", he said.
"The collaboration between AGIS and the Commissariat for Expo
Osaka 2025 has a strong relevance for the promotion of our
culture and our artistic talents at an international level",
commented the President of AGIS Francesco Giambrone. "The Italy
Pavilion in Osaka will be a window of excellence and a great
opportunity to enhance the professional level of Italian
performing arts and will allow us to present within an extremely
high profile international context a selection of our best
cultural expressions".
"I wish to express my sincere thanks to the Commissariat of Expo
and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation for wanting to promote and appreciate the richness
of our artistic and cultural heritage with all visitors who,
over the weeks of Expo 2025, will focus their attention on Osaka
and all of Japan", said Giambrone. "Giving performing arts a
central role in the cultural diplomacy of the country is an
important step that shows the shared awareness that this sector
has huge potential", he noted.
The main objective of the agreement between AGIS and the General
Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka includes the
international promotion of the Italian artistic sector to
facilitate the meeting between creative enterprises and new
foreign partners to strengthen economic relations and to develop
commercial agreements at a global level.
The accord, moreover, vies to enhance innovative projects of
artists, groups and Italian companies, considered strategic for
the Asian region.
AGIS represents entrepreneurs in the sectors of the performing
arts, cinema, music, dance and circus, with a constant
commitment for the promotion of Italian culture abroad as a soft
power tool.
Expo 2025 will be held in Osaka from April 13 until October 13,
2025 and its theme is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives".
"Art Regenerates Life" is the theme of the Italy Pavilion,
designed by architect Mario Cucinella. (ANSA).
