Retail sales down in August, -0.5% in value

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 4 - In August 2024, a negative cyclical change is estimated for retail sales both in value (-0.5%) and in volume (-0. 4%), Istat said Friday.
    Sales of food products are stationary in value and those in volume are decreasing (-0.2%) while those of non-food products are decreasing both in value and in volume (-0.7% and -0.5% respectively).
    On a trend basis, in August 2024, retail sales increase by 0.8% in value and by 0.2% in volume.
    Sales of food products increased by 2.1% in value and 1.0% in volume, while sales of non-food products decreased both in value and volume (-0.3% and -0.2% respectively). (ANSA).
