(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 5 - President Sergio Mattarella said on
the 100th anniversary of Rai Radio Saturday that the public
broadcaster was reliable because it is pluralistic and
independent.
"Rai continues to have as its mission that of working for the
promotion of free information and culture," he said.
"Independence, authority, plurality of opinions,
originality, professionalism, innovation, these are the
qualities that have allowed the company, over the years, to
achieve prestigious results and to become a reliable and
listened to voice".
The head of State added: "The public television service knows it
is at the exclusive service of citizens, in accordance with the
Media Information Act of the European Union, guaranteeing the
plurality of voices, the quality of the product and carrying out
a rigorous verification of the sources in the flow of
