(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 5 - Police launched tear gas and used
water cannons to disperse violent protesters, many of them
hooded, at a pro-Palestinian march in Rome Saturday, while the
officers were targeted by firecrackers, stones, clubs, and road
signs.
The march stampeded after "a full-blown guerrilla war broke
out", police said.
The march had been mostly peaceful up to that point. (ANSA).
