(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 7 - Torino's Colombia striker and skipper
Duván Zapata's season is over after he tore his anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus after twisting his knee in
an unnatural way during Saturday's 3-2 loss to Inter Milan,
Granata sources said Monday.
Scans on the 33-year-old "have highlighted a lesion of the
anterior cruciate ligament, the medial meniscus and the lateral
meniscus", Torino said.
"The entire Torino Football Club affectionately embraces Duvan
with the hope of seeing him again as a protagonist on the pitch
with the Granata shirt as soon as possible" was the message from
the club.
Zapata, who scored the opening goal in the game at San Siro, had
left the pitch early in the match against the Serie A champs and
currently second-placed club after an unnatural rotation of the
knee. (ANSA).
