(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 8 - Due to torrential rain in Milan on
Tuesday, the Seveso river's anti-flood storage tank was
activated while the Lambro river overflowed its banks, flooding
the neighbourhood of Ponte Lambro.
Milan Security Councillor Marco Granelli said since Tuesday
morning "between 55 and 60 mm of rain have fallen in Milan and
the levels of the Seveso and Lambro rivers are still rising".
Civil protection and local police officials are monitoring the
situation, he said. (ANSA).
