(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 8 - Italy's national health service
represents an essential pillar of the right to health, President
Sergio Mattarella said Tuesday in a message sent for the
presentation of the seventh report on the NHS drafted by the
GIMBE health foundation.
"The national health service constitutes a precious resource and
is an essential pillar for the safeguard of the right to health,
in its two-pronged meaning of fundamental right of the
individual and interest of the community", Mattarella wrote in
the message sent for the presentation of the report at the
Senate in Rome.
"Its efficiency is the outcome of the resources dedicated and of
the organizational models applied", with the latter
responsibility "entrusted to regions", noted the president.
