(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 15 - A reported 48 migrants landed at dawn
on Tuesday on the Sicilian island of Lampedusa, where on Monday
23 landings were registered for a total of 960 people.
Early on Tuesday, the local migrant hotspot at the Imbriacola
district was hosting 946 people.
On Monday morning, 233 guests were transferred from the facility
to make room for new arrivals.
The prefecture of Agrigento with jurisdiction over Lampedusa has
ordered the transfer on Tuesday of 220 migrants by ferry.
The migrants will be taken to Porto Empedocle in Sicily.
An additional 168 people on Tuesday afternoon will travel to
Milan on a flight organized by the International Organization
for Migration (IOM). (ANSA).
