Plumber dies in explosion during maintenance work

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 15 - A 62-year-old plumber, Fernando Coletta, died on Tuesday while he was carrying out maintenance work on the water heating system of a country home near Gallipoli, in Puglia.
    According to preliminary information, Coletta died in the explosion of an expansion tank on top of the water tank .
    Carabinieri police are investigating the incident.
    National labour accidents and occupational illness agency Inail said last week that 680 fatal work-related accidents were reported to it in the first eight months of 2024, a rise of 3.5% on the equivalent period in 2023. (ANSA).
