'UNIFIL mission could be revised after ceasefire' - Borrell

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 19 - The EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell on Saturday said "perhaps UNIFIL's mission should be revised" after a ceasefire, speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing G7 Defence meeting in Naples.
    "Perhaps UNIFIL's mission should be revised, but first of all the ceasefire", he noted.
    He also said that after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, "a new perspective has opened and we must use it to reach a ceasefire for the release of the last hostages and to seek a political perspective.
    "We must rebuild Lebanon's sovereignty, we must ensure that Lebanese institutions work.
    "The Lebanese must take responsibilities and elect a president", he said. (ANSA).
