(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 22 - Italy's public-debt-to-GDP ratio was
134.8% at the end of 2023, a drop of 3.
The national debt stood at 2,868.411 billion euros at the end of
last year.
The debt level was slightly higher than the estimate of 134.6%
of GDP that had been released on September 23.
The national statistics agency said Italy's deficit-to-GDP ratio
came in at 7.2%, down from 8.1% in 2022.
Istat said that it has sent the data to the European Commission,
applying the Protocol on the Excessive Deficit Procedure.
