'Citizens able to judge them on basis of services provided'

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 22 - The government's new 'differentiated autonomy' arrangements are a challenge for regional ruling classes to show they are capable of managing the transition to greater autonomy to the good of their citizens, Premier Giorgia Meloni said Tuesday.
"Obviously, it is also up to regional and local administrators to do their part, and I am convinced that differentiated autonomy can be an opportunity to demonstrate their value and their capabilities", she said in a video message sent to the Festival delle Regioni, underway in Bari.
"Because, here too, the point that has not been understood is that this reform also and above all represents a challenge for the Regions and for its ruling classes, on spending and services.
"Each Region has the opportunity to demonstrate that seriousness, skills and responsibility are a real opportunity.
"First and foremost for citizens, who can judge those who govern them on the basis of the quality of their work and the services provided". (ANSA).
