(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 4 - The president of independent health
foundation GIMBE, Nino Cartabellotta, on Monday said the funding
earmarked in the budget for healthcare is insufficient,
including to cover measures already approved by the government,
sounding the alarm over the lack of crucial steps to save the
national healthcare system, during a meeting with the joint
budget commissions of the Lower House and Senate.
Without "adequate resources and courageous reforms we will bid
farewell to the universal system, to equality and fairness, the
fundamental principles of national healthcare", said
Cartabellotta, stressing that 19 billion euros are missing from
investments planned until 2030.
