(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 6 - A 24-year-old fast bowler, Thomas Draca, is in the running to become the first Italian to play in cricket's prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Australian-born player, who has an Italian mother, has been listed at number 325 out of 1,574 in the IPL auction for 2025 that will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, November 24 and 25.
He impressed observers with his performances for the Brampton Wolves in the Global T20 Canada 2024, in which he took 11 wickets in just six matches.
He has already been picked up by MI Emirates, an affiliate of the Mumbai Indians, for the International League T20.
And the Mumbai Indians could make a bid for him at the Jeddah auction.
Draca made his debut for the Italian national team in Rome in June in qualifiers for the T20 2026 World Cup, taking eight wickets in four matches and helping Italy to go through the next phase. (ANSA).
