(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 6 - A 24-year-old fast bowler, Thomas
Draca, is in the running to become the first Italian to play in
cricket's prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Australian-born player, who has an Italian mother, has been
listed at number 325 out of 1,574 in the IPL auction for 2025
that will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, November 24 and
25.
He impressed observers with his performances for the Brampton
Wolves in the Global T20 Canada 2024, in which he took 11
wickets in just six matches.
He has already been picked up by MI Emirates, an affiliate of
the Mumbai Indians, for the International League T20.
And the Mumbai Indians could make a bid for him at the Jeddah
auction.
Draca made his debut for the Italian national team in Rome in
June in qualifiers for the T20 2026 World Cup, taking eight
wickets in four matches and helping Italy to go through the next
