(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - Some 30 parents broke into a middle
school and attacked a special needs teacher near Naples on
Thursday, sources said Saturday.
They said the cause of the incident were rumours about the
teacher's alleged sexual abuse of some students.
The incident happened at Scanzano, a hamlet of Castellamare di
Stabia, on Thursday morning.
The parents of the alleged victim were also at the scene.
Her father tried to defend her but suffered a broken wrist,
while the teacher sustained a concussion caused by multiple
blows to the head.
Carabinieri intervened to rescue the young woman and her parents
at the Istituto Salvati.
The teacher had recently received death threats.
No complaint has so far been filed against the teacher over the
rumoured sexual abuse.
She recently found a boy smoking in a bathroom and he was
suspended for two days.
In August, sources said, her social media profiles were hacked.
Attacks on school staff have risen in Italy lately, including
teachers being stabbed by students. (ANSA).
