(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 19 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani said Ukraine will continue to be supported
militarily, financially and politically after a meeting on
Tuesday of the Weimar Triangle alliance in its enlarged format
with France, Germany, Poland, Italy the United Kingdom, Spain,
and the European Union.
"Today's message is clear: we will continue to support Ukraine,
from a military, economic and political standpoint", said
Tajani.
"The format today will become a way to cooperate together in the
future, for Europe's growth, for the defence of democracy, for
solid relations with the US and to prevent further violations of
international law", noted the foreign minister.
Tajani was in Warsaw to attend the meeting with his four
European counterparts and Great Britain 1,000 days after the
beginning of the war in Ukraine.
The Polish press agency said the gathering was attended by
Germany's Annalena Baerbock, France's Jean-Noel Barrot and
Poland's Radoslaw Sikorski while Jose Manuel Albares for Spain
and David Lammy for the UK participated remotely.
The new commissioner for international affairs Kaja Kallas was
also in attendance, it reported.
According to Sikorski, the gathering marked a return to talks
under the so-called "Weimar Plus" format including
representative of Europe's largest countries. (ANSA).
