(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 20 - Carmaker Stellantis on Wednesday told
unions at its Temoli plant in southern Italy that it has
requested a furlough scheme on December 16-22 for the production
lines of the Gse and V6 engines.
The measure is necessary to adapt production to current market
conditions, in particular because it is strictly connected to
the temporary suspension of activities at the plants of
Pomigliano and Cassino, and to guarantee an efficient management
of resources, said Stellantis.
In a note, the carmaker expressed determination in "guaranteeing
the continuity of our plants and activities at this complicated
time".
Stellantis is facing challenges including low demand for more
expensive electric vehicles and competition from China.
It is also dealing with excess US inventories that have led it
to slash profit and cash-flow forecasts. (ANSA).
