(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 10 - Italian car production is in free
fall, dropping 32.4% in October, carmakers group ANFIA said
Tuesday.
"In October, the index of Italian automotive production
accentuates the decline with the eighth consecutive decline
(-32.4%)", said Gianmarco Giorda, ANFIA director-general.
"Domestic production of cars alone - he explained - amounts to
16 thousand units in the month, down 67.8% on October 2023.
"The index of motor vehicle manufacturing also maintains the
minus sign in October (-40.4%) as does the index of production
of parts and accessories for motor vehicles and engines, which
closes the month at -28.9%, worsening the decline recorded in
September.
"The situation of the sector in our country is increasingly
complex and uncertain". (ANSA).
