(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 16 - Premier Giorgia Meloni on Monday said
in a message sent to the 17th States General of Diplomacy
conference, which is taking place at the foreign ministry in
Rome, that the Middle East deserves to leave behind its state of
crisis and that the truce in Lebanon and the ouster of former
president Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria represent an
opportunity.
"The Middle East deserves a new perspective to leave this
permanent crisis", the prime minister stated in the message.
"The truce in Lebanon and the fall of Assad's regime in Syria
are opportunities on which we have to work together with our
partners to reach a fair and sustainable peace in the entire
region", she said. (ANSA).
