(ANSA) - MILAN, DEC 18 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani on Wednesday warned of the risk of Germany's and
France's current economic woes spreading beyond their borders.
"The economic situation in Germany and France does not help the
development of the internal market," Tajani said at the opening
of the National Export Conference in Milan.
"We cannot rejoice at the difficulties in these two countries,
with which we have extraordinary economic relations, but we have
to take them into account.
"If things go badly there, then they will not go well in Italy,
so we must also prepare ourselves for the risk of contagion.
"And we can only do that by strengthening the industrial system.
"I do not believe in an interventionist state, but it must set
good rules". (ANSA).
