Emilia Pérez wins Capri with 6 gongs then The Brutalist

'Vermiglio' by Delpero best international film

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 2 - At the 29th 'Capri, Hollywood Festival' 'Emilia Pérez' triumphed with six awards including best film, best actress Karla Sofia Gascón (best adapted screenplay and best cast), followed with three awards by 'The Brutalist' by Brady Corbet and with two by 'Conclave', 'Dune: Part Two', 'Wicked', while 'Vermiglio' by Maura Delpero (Lina Wertmuller Filmmaker of the Year Award), shortlisted for the Oscars for best international film and nominated for the Golden Globes, won the title of Best International Feature of the Year, veteran star Franco Nero announced.
    Nero co-chaired the Capri nel MOndo Institute which this year included Oscar winners Gianni Quaranta, Nick Vallelonga and Alessandro Bertolazzi, the already Oscar-nominated Vittorio Sodano and the legendary musician Phil Palmer.
    Awards also went to 'Emilia Pérez' for Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Capri Produttori 2024 (Pascal Caucheteux, Jacques Audiard, Valérie Schermann, Anthony Vaccarello).
    Adrien Brody for 'The Brutalist' by Brady Corbet is the best actor of the year; for the same film, Lol Crawley (best photography) and Daniel Blumberg (best soundtrack) were also nominated.
    For 'Conclave', the awards for best director went to Edward Berger and best supporting actress to Isabella Rossellini.
    The Capri Award for Best Screenplay goes to 'Anora' by Sean Baker while Best Animated Film goes to 'Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl' by Merlin Crossingham and Nick Park (available from January 3 on Netflix).
    Massimo Cantini Parrini wins Best Costume Design for 'Maria' (with Angelina Jolie) while Diane Warren wins again in Capri with the song 'The Journey" (The Six Triple Eight) performed by H.E.R.     The festival founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, is realized with the support of the Culture Minister (DG Cinema) and the Campania Region, special partners are Intesa Sanpaolo, Riflessi, Frecciarossa and Givova, with the patronage of the municipality of Anacapri, the city of Capri, the Municipality of Naples, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, the Red Cross and Nuovo Imaie, with the participation of Isaia, Caremar, The Hollywood Reporter Roma and Radio2Rai.
