Sala's parents request press silence

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 3 - The parents of Italian journalist Cecilia Sala, who is detained in Iran, have requested press silence to avoid complicating the evolution of the case.
    "The phase we have reached is very delicate and the feeling is that the major debate in the media on what can or should be done risks lengthening the time and making a solution more complicated and distant", they said in a message released on Friday.
    "This is why we have decided to abstain from comments and statements and we call on the media demanding press silence".
    "We will be grateful for the sense of responsibility that each one will want to show in avoiding to divulge sensitive and delicate news", the message concluded. (ANSA).
